good game

You should make it more apparent where to exit one area to get to another. Quest items should drop a bit more frequently.

Other than that, it looks really well put-together.

I was hoping to battle

Your title's a bit misleading. It should be called "Pokemon Gold Midi Player 2.0".

You should set up a pokemon battle system or expand what you have so users can mix the sounds or do something cool with it. You could even make a sprite-based pokemon storyline with animated battles (or a spoof thereof). You have plenty of background music.

Good start

It seems like you have the beginnings of a good game. However, the gameplay itself is clunky. And it is a bit boring visually.

It sucks that you're always facing forward, and your enemies are always facing right at you. give the planes different angles. A trick you can use is to get a 3D modeling program like Blender, find, make, or get someone to make a model of a plane, make a simple turn-around animation or 2, and spit out the frames as .jpg images. You'll have all the angles of the plane you need.

It's hard to tell that you're getting hit without glancing at the bar. Why don't you add smoke to the engine and/or make the screen flash red when you get hit?

I would've liked to have this done in 3D, but 3D is damn hard, especially when you have no clue about it. Thanks for the tips.

Decent

It's pretty good. The art is nice.

It's hard to keep someone's attention with a dress-up game. The good one's have ALOT of content: hidden content that you need to unlock, either by buying it or by solving some sort of puzzle; ability to change background; and ability to change music.

I like the flipping through the clothes while it's on the rack, but it doesn't help if you're looking at the black pants over more black pants. If you could pull it out and look at it, that'd be neat.

The pixie-dust sound when you select an item got kind of annoying after a while, I thought.

Ok for a start

All the interesting dress-up games I've ever come across have a good system to manage parts and accessories--like slide-out panels to hold different types of parts. A good management system will keep the window from looking cluttered all the time.

And parts should snap into place on the character. And you need some kind of background music--that you can turn on and off.

It's not too bad for someone whose just learning Flash.

Thanks for the feedback :D
Yep, I was bummed that I couldn't figure out a button system myself. I'm working on that, and also ambient music. So much to learn @-@

Very good game

It's addicting--to me anyway. I don't think it's too hard. In fact, if the potions were cheaper, the game might become too easy. I ended the game with a lot of healing potions left. At first, it was hard with potions being so high, but past mid-way through the game, all I needed to buy were potions--with a couple of exceptions.

The only magic I used was healing magic, except for at the very end when I decided to try a spell on the boss--which was very effective. But for any other battle, by the time you cast a spell in combat, you could have beaten the monster with your weapon.

It could do with a harder mode after you beat it. Also, it seems like there is no way to restart from the very beginning. I click on new game and it puts me on level 89.

Nice

Other than not having a mute button, it's a cool and challenging game.

Not too bad

It's okay, but couldn't hold my interest for very long.

The hawks were too easy to avoid. I didn't even try to avoid them, they'd sometimes pass really close, but they'd never get me. They could have a smarter AI and turn towards the snake if they sense it.

And you're doing too much of the same thing over and over.

Really good game

The art looks professional, but the controls are a bit of a drawback. I like games with as few keys as possible. The jump should have been the up arrow and the release should have been a double-tap of the fire button, like GammaFoxTBG suggested. The action key can even replace the kick, as the kick doesn't seem to be of much use. (Maybe the kick would be better if it had a longer reach, could damage boxes, and/or could knock the enemies farther away.)

And I may just be too uncoordinated, but there seemed to be a slight lag from when I pressed the jump key to when he actually jumped. Maybe that is intentional or maybe it's my computer, but I'd die alot when I'm trying to jump over acid--half the time, he'd just skid off the edge of the platform.
